Shorthanded Wranglers fall 4-1 to Eagles Vegas returns home for Midnight Game on Dec. 16

LOVELAND, colo – Down six players due to injuries and call-ups, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-1 to the Colorado Eagles tonight.

Wranglers goalie Mitch O’Keefe and Eagles goalie Adam Brown held the first period scoreless as the home team outshot Vegas 13-7. 2:59 into the second, Colorado posted the first goal of the game from right wing Luke Fulghum, and Eagles forward Trent Daavettila made it a 2-0 game on a penalty shot minutes later. With seven seconds left in the middle period, Wranglers forward Matt Tassone cut the Eagles’ lead in half with a power play goal.

 Colorado regained their two-goal lead four minutes into the third period as forward Kevin Ulanski scored. The Eagles took the game with a final score of 4-1 as forward Greg Gardner recorded a goal in the final 2:39 of play. With Las Vegas winning Wednesday’s game 4-3 in a shootout, the series was evened at one apiece with the Eagles’ victory tonight. 

The third game of the weekend series wraps up tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. The Wranglers return home for the 11th annual Midnight Game on Monday, Dec. 16, at 11:59 p.m. as the Ontario Reign come to town.
