Sheffield Academy player signs for the Steeldogs

SHEFFIELD, U.K.- The Sheffield Steeldogs have signed 19 year old, Shaun Wild, for his first full season in the EPL.
 
In addition to playing a total of 18 games and recording two assists for the Steeldogs during the 2010/11 and 2011/12 season, the Sheffield born defender has played for numerous teams throughout the Sheffield Academy system.
 
Wild has played for the Sheffield Spartans since 2009, playing 85 games and recording 60 points for the English National Ice Hockey League side.
 
Steeldogs Head Coach, Andre Payette, said, “ I ‘m extremely happy to have Shaun on board this coming season.”
 
“Shaun has shown he has been a really good player in the Sheffield Academy and has always worked hard when given the chance with us.”
 
“I look for this to be a big learning year for Shaun and I am really excited have such a talented young Academy player graduate up to us”.
 
Shaun expressed his excitement in signing for the Steeldogs, “I’m really looking forward to stepping up and trying to improve.”
 
“I feel very lucky to be given this chance and I am going to work as hard as I can to show Andre he has made the right decision”.
