Saint John wins 6-0 over Quebec

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Jonathan Huberdeau (1g-1a), Stephen MacAulay (1g-1a), Gabriel Bourret (0g-4a) and Steven Anthony with two assists were the best Sea Dogs players in Saint John;s 19 victories in their first 24 games.
 
Saint John played a strong first period, scoring four times on the first 11 shots against Louis Domingue who left after the Sea Dogs’ fourth goal.
 
Tomas Jurco opened the scoring on the first power play opportunity in the first period, his wrist shot went through sticks, legs and bodies giving no chance to Domingue. Jurco’s goal was scored at 10:36.
 
The Sea Dogs doubled their lead when the Washington’s 86th pick overall in 2010 Stanislav Galiev scored Saint John’s second goal at 13:07 after accepting a great pass from Steve Anthony.
 
Saint John adds two goals before the siren sound. Pierre Durepos saw his shot deflected off Quebec defenseman Martin Lefebvre before going in at 15:02.
 
The last Saint John goal in the first period was scored on a two-on-one breakaway. Unable to keep the puck in the offensive zone Remparts Captain Mikael Tam saw Jurco pick the puck along the board and make great pass to the author of Saint John fourth goal Jonathan Huberdeau 1:03 later.
 
After allowing four goals on 11 shots Quebec head coach Patrick Roy pulled his starting goaltender Domingue sending backup Jimmy Appleby. Domingue made nine saves on 13 shots in 16:05 minutes of play.
 
Saint John scored two more goals in the middle frame leading 6-0 after forty minutes. Mike Tomas beat Appleby top corner 6:35 into second period. Getting an assist on preceding goal Stephen MacAulay came from behind Quebec net beating Remparts netminder at 15:31.
 
The Sea Dogs dominated Quebec 6-0 on the scoreboard and also led on the shots on goal department 27-15 after forty minutes of play.
 
Neither team scored in third period.
 
Quebec ended the weekend with two wins in three games. The Remparts will get another busy weekend playing the next three games in four days at home. On Thursday November 18, Quebec will face the Gatineau Olympiques; the Lewiston MAINEiacs will come into Quebec for two games against Quebec on Friday November 19 and on Sunday November 21.
