Royals score 4 to take Game Two

READING, PA – The Reading Royals officially put the Elmira Jackals backs against the proverbial wall Wednesday night with a 4-2 win in Game Two of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals sending the series back to Elmira with a 2-0 series lead. The Jackals now have to win the next three games at home if they are to survive the best-of-five series.
The Royals got goals from four different goal scorers and held a 3-0 lead through the first two periods in the game before Elmira came to life in the third period. The Jackals got goals from Dustin Gazley midway through the third and Artem Demkov scored with 49.5 seconds left in the game. Kenny Ryan, the hero of Game One, scored and empty net goal with 33 seconds left to go in the game to out the game away. Royals goaltender Mark Owuya once again had an great night in net making 38 saves on 40 shots. For the second straight night the Jackals outshot the Royals in every period, this time by a 40-25 count. Yannick Tifu once again led the Royals with 4 shots while Nick Dineen and Jordan Pietrus led Elmira with 5 shots each.
The Jackals did not score on the power play for the second straight game but this time the Royals went 2-3 while Elmira missed on both of their opportunities and are 0-6 for the series. The Royals are affiliated with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League while the Jackals are affiliated with the Ottawa Senators and the Anaheim Ducks.
