The Steelheads will head to Ontario for the first game of the series on Friday, Apr. 19 at 7:00 p.m. Game 2 will be the following night, Saturday, Apr. 20 at 6:00 p.m. Then the series shifts to Idaho on Wednesday, Apr. 24, Friday, Apr. 26, and, if necessary, Game 5 will be Saturday, Apr. 27 in Idaho also. If the series is pushed to six or seven games, the Reign will play those at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Tuesday, Apr. 30, and Wednesday, May 1 both with 7:00 p.m. puck drops.
Idaho earned their way to the second round, defeating the Colorado Eagles in six games. The Steelheads improved to 4-1 in game 6 during the ECHL era, including a perfect 4-0 at home, dating back to the 2003-04 season.
The Reign finished the 2012-13 season ranked third in the league compared to the third seeded Steelheads who ranked sixth. In nine games, Ontario was out-beaten by Idaho 4-5-0-0 through the regular season. Last year it was the Steelheads who took the Reign out of the first round in a heartbreaking, Game 5, 5-0 loss for Ontario.
