At the 7:31 mark of the first period, Jake Newton picked up a perfect feed from Reign newcomer Chad Costello in front of the Condors cage and banged it in to give Ontario a 1-0 lead. Moments later, at 8:17, the Reign took control of the puck off the faceoff and brought it behind Condors goaltender Chet Pickard. Mike Towns sent a pass out to Everett Sheen who was waiting in the high slot and his shot sailed past Pickard’s glove for a 2-0 score.

The score stayed at 2-0 in favor of the Reign through the second frame which saw each side with shots on goal.

The Condors got their first goal of the night on a power play at 7:34 in the third period. A tic-tac-toe passing play between Nicholas Tremblay, Chris Collins, and Michael Neal ended with Neal lighting the lamp for Bakersfield.
