Red Wings recover in OT to get split

ANAHEIM, Calif – The Ducks were looking to go up by two games in this best of seven series after winning 3-1 on Tuesday night.

Detroit wasn’t happy with the outcome in game 1 and were looking to bring their A game for game two.

Damien Brunner made it 2-0 to silence the Honda Center crowd.

Both Jimmy Howard and Hiller made some big saves early although Hiller seemed shaky as he was all over his crease.

Detroit had a 2-0 lead after one period.

Johan Franzen the mule got a power play just minute into the secondĀ from Brunner and Datsyuk to make it 3-0.

With the Ducks on the power play Saku Koivu pounced on a loose puck and banged it past Howard to make it 3-1 Red Wings.

Franzen got his 2nd of the game on the power play early in the third to make it 4-1 from Henrik Zetterberg and Brunner.

Detroit was relentless on the puck and looked to be in control of this game.

Ryan Getzlaf got the Ducks to within two when he did some unbelievable work behind the net and came out front and put it by Howard 4-2 Wings.

Kyle Palmieri made it 4-3 as he banged home a loose puck from Bobby Ryan and Nick Bonino.

Ryan completed the unreal come back to tie things up at 4-4 and blow the roof off the Honda Center with just over two minutes to go.

Hiller made a couple of high lite reel saves to send this game to over time.

Shots after sixty minutes were 32-28 in favor of Anaheim.

Gustav Nyquist scored early in over time to give the Red Wings to win and tie this series at one heading back to Detroit for the next two games.
