SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The San Antonio Rampage kicked off the fifth season of the club’s Face-Off Against Kids Cancer program on Wednesday with a pizza party, provided by CiCi’s Pizza, complete with cookie decorating and board games for child cancer patients at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. At the party, Rampage hockey players will be paired with children from the Centers for Oncology and Blood Disorders at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, who are currently in either early stages of treatment for pediatric cancer or in remission. This will be the first meeting between the Rampage players and their “buddies.”
The Rampage will host a series of social events throughout the season with the hope of generating lasting relationships and increasing awareness about childhood cancer in the community. Past events include visits to Sea World, the San Antonio Rodeo, Funtastic Playland and the Magik Theatre.
The Rampage will host their fifth annual Face-Off Against Kids Cancer Night, presented by the Little Fighter Foundation, on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. against the Oklahoma City Barons at AT&T Center. The team will invite their buddies to the game and wear custom jerseys to be auctioned off following the game to raise money for the program. In four years, the Rampage have raised nearly $50,000 to benefit the Face-Off Against Kids Cancer .
