Quebec gets back in series

Quebec City P.Q. — The Quebec Remparts Kelsey Tessier’s goal with only 1:19 into the third period led his team to their first victory in their series against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles to make the series 2-1. Cape Breton came out with a dominant performance in first period, but Quebec goaltender Charles Lavigne made 18 saves on 19 shots in the opening period, and made some solid saves during consecutive penalties to Samuel Groulx (4:04) and Mathieu Loisel (8:23). Cape Breton drew first blood in Game 3 at home. Chris Culligan scored his third goal of the playoffs by completing a great play from Stephen Horyl and Joey Haddad at 7:53. Quebec, with a man advantage thanks to Screaming Eagles forward Nick MacNeil (12:02), tied the game at one when Michail Stefanovich deflected a pass from Dmitry Kugryshev, beating Olivier Roy at 14:03. The Screaming Eagles was unable to get the puck behind the Quebec goaltender in four power play opportunities, and ended the second period 0-6 with the man advantage. The Remparts took the lead for the first time in the game when Dmitry Kugryshev, just out of the penalty box, picked up a pass from teammate Mikael Tam and beat Roy with a backhand shot at 18:16.
