BRACKNELL, UK – Michal Pinc’s lone strike ended the Bees’ unbeaten home record as the Czech forward took revenge on his former employers. The Bees dominated the game, but couldn’t find a way past the impressive Thomas Murdy – who made 40 saves for the Swindon Wildcats. Bees Head Coach Gareth Cox, said: “I think we were much the better team. We threw everything but the kitchen sink at them, but it was just one of those days. “I’m not disappointed with how we played, the boys are just really gutted.” Jaroslav Cesky missed the opportunity to return to the side he left over the summer after picking up a match penalty the previous night against the Bees in Swindon. Bracknell had edged out Swindon the previous night, with former Wildcat Matt Foord grabbing the only goal. This time, it was the former Bee, Michal Pinc, who found the net with a precise shot in the second period. The Bees looked comfortable on the power play kill and calm with the man advantage. However, the Berkshire side couldn’t find a way past Murdy. Martin Masa hit the post in the first period as he deflected a shot from the blue-line onto the iron, as Swindon’s defence held strong. After Pinc’s goal midway through the second period, the Bees struggled to find a response. However, the home side ended the period well, but again Murdy was equal to everything thrown his way. The third period slowed any momentum the Bees had created during the game. Problems with the score board and some questionable penalty decisions slowed the tempo to the advantage of Swindon. “The refereeing was terrible in the third period. I’m not really sure what was going on. They missed a blatant slashing call, but were quite happy to hand out penalties to us. “Swindon are a good team, very organised defensively. We were perhaps lucky on Saturday, and they were fortunate tonight” added Cox. The loss is the Bees’ first at The Hive this season, after Cox’s side disposed of the Slough Jets and the Basingstoke Bison. After the weekend’s action, Swindon are in third place in the English Premier League, while Bracknell find themselves in sixth place, tied with three other teams on six points.
