BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Riding a four-goal second stanza professional hockey in Bloomington got off to a good start this past weekend. Jason Dale and Brodie Sheahan made sure the home crowd went home happy when they connected in OT for the Central Hockey League debut for the Bloomington Blaze. Sheahan rushed the net and led to Dale potting the loose puck, giving the Blaze a 5-4 victory over the Dayton Gems. An opening night crowd of 3,375 at the “Inferno” enjoyed the night and the final score. The Blaze were anxious in the OT session when goalie Marco Emond left the match with an injury. His replacement, D.J. DelBuono, stopped two Dayton shots in relief of Emond. Pro Hockey News’ Jeff Buydos was there to capture the action in this photo essay.
