Phoenix sign successful duo Home-grown talent resigns

Manchester PhoenixMANCHESTER, UK – MANCHESTER Phoenix have re-signed two of the Club’s most successful home-grown talents.

Captain Luke Boothroyd and his assistant James Archer have both put pen to paper on a year’s extension.

They were an integral part of Phoenix’ play-off title last season.

“Luke had a brilliant year last time out and I think there is even more to come from him,” Manchester coach Tony Hand said. “He us a great captain both on the ice and in the locker room and I am really pleased to have him back again.

“James had his best season for us last year and he really stepped up his game. His energy and enthusiasm are first class and once again he will be an important part of the team.”

Boothroyd, 26, was named as an EPL All-Star in a season that surpassed his expectations.

Not only did he notch a career-best 13 goals but h was also named in Hand’s Great Britain squad for the World Championships.

It will be his sixth year in Manchester whilst Archer will skate for his fourth consecutive season.

He has played more than 400 EPL games and added 58 points to Phoenix’ cause in 2012/13.
