PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Wranglers tangle with Colorado

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Back in town from a three-game road trip, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-2 to the Colorado Eagles Saturday in the team’s 10th “FANniversary” celebration.
Colorado drew first blood late in the first on a goal from defenseman Isaac Smeltzer. The 1-0 lead carried into the second when Wranglers center Geoff Paukovich scored a power play goal at the 6:40 mark to knot the game 1-1. The Eagles were quick to respond, and the one-goal lead was regained by forward Joey Sides with ten minutes left in the second.

Eagles forward Trent Daavettila gave Colorado a 3-1 advantage five minutes into the third, but the Wranglers attempted a comeback in the final 59 seconds on a goal from forward Andrew Sarauer. Colorado collected the 4-2 win on an empty net goal from Sides in the final 15 seconds, taking the victory in front of 6.519 Wranglers fans.
