PROVIDENCE, RI – Providence Bruins Chris Bourque finally scored his first goal, on the power-play in the 2nd period, to tie the game at 1-1. Bourque has led the team in shots and was the leading scorer of the AHL last season, so this was a long awaited goal.
Bourque also put on a sick move in the shootout to beat Devils goaltender Keith Kinkaid, but it was Jamie Tardif with the game winner for the Bruins. Goaltender Niklas Svedberg continued his strong play in net for the Providence Bruins, getting his GAA under 2.00.
