MELBOURNE, Australia – Well it didn’t take long for the Melbourne Mustangs to regain the upper hand on the Adrenaline of Adelaide. One night after surrendering a 5-4 SO loss to Adelaide, the Mustangs came back and defeated the Adrenaline in a shootout.
The afternoon contest ended 7-6 in favor of the Mustangs. The night before Melbourne needed a late goal to push the contest to the etra session but this time it was the Adrenaline who needed that late goal. A power play goal with three minutes left in regulation by Wehebe Darge lifted the Adrenaline.
Pat O’Kane got the Mustangs on the SO board when he scored first in the one-on-one session.
Jon Olthuis shut the door on the Adrenaline in the SO and got the Mustangs the extra point.
Melbourne now holds a one-point lead on Adelaide but they have two games in hand on the Adrenaline.
