MISSISSAUGA, Ontario – The Mississauga Steelheads hosted the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Sunday afternoon (at the Hershey Centre) beating them 4 – 2 that included a last minute empty net goal by Bryson Cianfrone.
Period 1: The Greyhounds opened up the scoring at the 8:09 mark with a goal from Michael Bunting (14) assisted by both S. Tolchinsky and P. Watling. Seconds later Mississauga’s Damian Bourne (21) tied the game on a turnover assisted by Austin Gerhart at 8:29.
Score at the end of 1; Steelheads 1 – Greyhounds 1
Period 2: The Steelhead’s took the lead with the only goal scored in the second period by Dylan Smoskowitz (23) assisted by Josh Burnside.
Score at the end of 2; Steelheads 2 – Greyhounds 1
Period 3: The Greyhound’s Kyle Jenkins scored while on the Power Play at 2:37 assisted by T. Guadet and S. Tolchinsky tying the game. Less than 5 minutes later at 6:38 Mississauga regained the lead with a goal from Trevor Carrick (4) assisted by B. Cianfrone and A. Rasulov. Mississauga’s Bryson Cianfrone (19) scored an empty net goal at 19:54 assisted by A. Goldberg that sealed the fate for the Greyhounds.
