The visiting Gladiators tallied first at 5:57 off a flurry in front of Michael Houser by Domenic Menardo. The shots on goal were almost even throughout the period. The Gladiators were given a five-on-three late in the period and scored a power play goal by Doug Jones after a pass from Casey Pierro Zabotel at 18:28. The period ended with the Gladiators up 2-0.
The second period began with another score by the Gladiators at 3:35. The Cyclones finally answered in short order with a goal by Trevor Lewis at 3:56 after a furious scrum in front of Domingue.
The chippiness of game 3 began to rear its’ head and the Gladiators responded in kind. Then at the end of the period the Gladiators Evan Bloodoff broke in on Houser on a two-on-one and slipped the puck past Houser. This left the Cyclones in a three goal hole at the end of the stanza.
The Cyclones responded at 7:48 of the final frame as David Pacan fired a wrister past Domingue to cut the lead to two. There was no further scoring in the period as the Gladiators evened the series at two games apiece.
Game five is scheduled for tonight at US Bank Arena. This series continues in a back and forth manner and will now include a game six on Tuesday night.
