PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Fort Worth Brahmas vs. Tulsa Oilers 11/9/12

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas – The Fort Worth Brahmas stopped a four-game skid with a 5-4 victory over the Tulsa Oilers Friday night.   *The Brahmas jumped out to an early lead with two first-period goals – one scored by Phil Fox at the 12:52 mark and the other by Riley Boychuk at 15:18.   After Gary Steffes and Michel Beausoleil each scored in the first five minutes of the second period to even the score at two goals apiece, Fort Worth assistant captain Adam Hogg scored his second goal of the season to put the Brahmas back out in front, 3-2 heading into the third period.   Tulsa quickly tied the game in the third period, as Steffes scored his second of the game just 19 seconds into the final frame. But as they did in the previous period, the Brahmas rebounded again. Shawn Szydlowski beat Tulsa netminder Dan Bakala at the 7:47 mark of give Fort Worth the 4-3 edge.   Chad Woollard netted his second score of the year just two minutes later, giving the Brahmas some breathing room late in the game. Woollard’s goal would be the eventual game-winner as Beausoleil added a late power play goal with under a minute remaining in regulation to make the score 5-4.   The Brahmas, who entered Friday’s game with only two power play goals on the season, added two more on five opportunities, while holding Tulsa to one power play score on six opportunities.   Fort Worth goaltender Brad Fogal made 19 saves on 23 shots to earn his second win of the season. Bakala stopped 30 of 35 shots between the posts for Tulsa, falling to 2-2-1 on the season.   The Brahmas will face off against the Oilers again tonight at 7:30 pm CST.
