CHELMSFORD, UK – This weekend was another 4-pointer for Chelmsford.
Saturday night saw the Chieftains on the road going to the Bee Hive in Bracknell to face the Hornets. Even after getting on the score board early, the Chieftains thought that it was not going to be their night as they ended up trailing the Hornets for most of the match. It was not until nine minutes from the end of the 3rd period that they put the foot to the pedal and scored four goals to win 6-3.
Sunday night was a clash of the Titans, with the top two teams in the league battling for points.
Again the Chieftains got off to a good start with two goals within minutes of the start of the game. But again things changed with the Wightlink Raiders doing the same at the start of the 2nd period; scoring two quick markers to even things up, and then scoring again to go 3-2 up.
When it was needed the Chieftains stepped up to the plate and managed to even things up, leaving it all to play for in the 3rd period.
The third period saw the Bartlett twins standing up for themselves and the team and coming to blows with two Raider players. After winning these bouts the Chieftains managed to score game-winner giving Chelmsford a 4-3 win.
This means that the Chieftains are now five points clear of the Raiders with the Chieftains having a game in hand.
The Chieftains retain their spot as the league leaders.
