PHN’s Best Shots of the Game: Chelmsford get 2014 off to fast start New year starts where 2013 left off

CHELMSFORD, UK – The year ended well for the Chieftains with back-to-back wins against old rivals, the London Raiders (formally the Romford Raiders) in what turned out to be very physical games with a host of penalties given out.

The New Year got off to a flying start as well with a 12-0 victory over the short benched Milton Keynes Thunder. The Chieftains managed five goals in the first period these being scored by Matt Turner, Cameron Bartlett, Darren Brown and two by Ross Brears.

Another five again in the second, the scorers this time were Daniel Volrab, James Ayling, Cameron Bartlett, Luke Brittle and with his hat trick Ross Brears.

In the third period things slowed down with only two goals scored by player coach Gary Clarke and import Daniel Volrab.

The Milton Keynes Thunder team may have been short-benched with only two lines and as it turned out well out scored, but they continued to battle right to the end of the match.
