ALLEN, Texas – On a night that saw Brett Skinner return from the IR and score two goals, Jason Deitsch scored a short-handed goal in his 500th pro game, Jarret Lukin was involved in his first fight, Drew Daniels scored his first professional goal and the Allen Americans won big extending their lead to three points over Wichita in the Central Hockey League standings.
After Tulsa grabbed a 1-0 first period lead, the Americans scored two quick tallys. The first from Brett Skinner on the power play, at the 16:34 mark, from Tyler Ludwig and Darryl Bootland to tie the score at 1-1. Less than two minutes later, Jamie Schaafsma netted his first of the night, sneaking in on the right side and beating Tulsa goalie Shane Madolora to give Allen the lead for good at 2-1 with Ryley Grantham and Drew Daniels assisting for Allen.
In the second period, it was Drew Daniels finding the back of the net for his first professional goal at the 3:35 mark, from Brian McMillin and Ryley Grantham. Later in the period, Brett Skinner scored his second of the night from Drew Daniels and Jamie Schaafsma at the 17:53 mark giving Allen a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.
In the third, while killing a five-on-three Tulsa power play, the Americans scored the highlight goal of the night when Jason Deitsch blasted one into the net to give Allen a 5-1 lead. After Tulsa cut the lead to 5-2, the Americans regained their four-goal cushion when Jamie Schaafsma scored his second of the night at the 13:45 mark from Jason Deitsch and Adam Pineault to cap off a big win.
