NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas – The Texas Brahmas beat the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 4-2 on Sunday to break the tie and take sole possession of third place in the Berry Conference.
The Brahmas were fueled by a two-goal performance from forward T.J. Fox, who beat Rio Grande Valley netminder Wylie Rogers twice in a two minute span of the second period. For Fox, the goals were his ninth and tenth of the season. Phil Fox sealed the game with an empty-netter with 31 seconds left in the third period, and veteran defenseman Ross Rouleau scored the very important first goal of the game at the 14:09 mark of the first period. The Brahmas are now 12-4-3 this season when scoring first. Texas goaltender Steve Silverthorn stopped 17 of 19 shots fired by the Bees en route to his seventh victory of the season.
