PHILADELPHIA, PA – Beginning on Wednesday, March 27, PHN will officially begin posting our NHL Mock Draft which will lead us up to this years NHL Entry draft that will be held in Montreal on Friday June 26 and Saturday June 27. Last years draft was fairly predicable in terms of the first overall pick, which as almost every publication predicted Steven Stamkos would go first overall to the Tampa Bay Lightning. That of course happened and the Lightning have been very pleased with there pick ever since. And as PHN also predicted, Drew Doughty went second overall to the Los Angeles Kings. This years top two prizes are center John Tavares and Swedish defenseman Victor Hedman. Could the Islanders use the pick and trade it away to get some immidiate help or will they stand pat and take Tavares over Hedman? Needless to say their will be plenty of rumors between now and then, and you can bet most of them won’t be true. PHN will be posting one mock draft pick article. We will also be posting how our mock draft is going so everyone can keep up on how each pick is falling into place. Don’t forget, you can challenge PHN and send us an email with your name, mailing address, and predictions up until one hour before the start of the draft tomockdraft2009@prohockeynews.com and show us your mock draft. Good luck to all of you and let the fun begin!
