PHN Mock NHL Entry Draft: Columbus Blue Jackets Second Pick

COLUMBUS, Oh. – Earlier in our mock draft, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected centerman Colin Wilson, but with the 19th overall pick in which Columbus obtained in the Adam Foote trade, we see them taking a defenseman.

Hitchcock loves promoting a strong defensive system.
 As we mentioned before the teams best prospect is Marc Methot, a former sixth round pick back in 2003, and rumor has it Ron Hainsey might flee via free agency. If that happens taking a defenseman is a no-brainer.
 In our mock draft, a couple of Western Hockey League defensemen, Colby Robak (Brandon, WHL) and Colten Teubert (Regina, WHL) are still on the board. According to E.J. “projects as a support three or four defenseman.”
Trading this pick along with the Columbus’s pick at #6 would not be a shock but unless something major happens expect to hear these words at the draft.
“With the 19th overall pick, the Columbus Blue Jackets select, from the Brandon Wheat Kings, defenseman, Colby Robak.”
