WAYNE, NJ – The New Jersey Outlaws continue their extremely dominant hot streak with an 11-2 victory over the Cape Cod BluefinsTuesday onight at the Capital One Ice Vault. Over the past four games the Outlaws have outscored their opponents 36-4. The Outlaws began the night with a 6 goal first period. Travis Kauffeldt got the scoring started at the 5:12 mark on the power play from Kevin Cooper and Billy McCreary.
Jeff Winchester scored the next two goals for the Outlaws at 7:56 and 11:53. Brett Liscomb rang one off the post and in for the Outlaws fourth goal at 13:44. At the 17:26 mark, Gentry Zollars deflected a blast from the point by Billy McCreary past Wes Vesprini.
Cape Cod would get on the board just 25 seconds later when Jamie Jelinek scored, but before the intermission, Travis Kauffeldt notched his second goal on to take a 6-1 lead into the break.
The second period saw the Bluefins draw within 6-2 as Stephen Kelly found the back of the net but the Bluefins would draw no closer as the Outlaws would score the final 5 goals of the night. Kauffeldt completed the hat trick at 8:35 of the second.
Trevor Karasiewicz added 2 goals, Matt Puntureri scored the Outlaws 9th goal and Jeff Winchester scored his first hat trick as an Outlaw in the third period.
This was the second game in a row that saw two Outlaws record a hat trick.
The Outlaws return home with a chance to clinch the regular season crown with a victory over 1000 Islands on Friday night, February 17th at 8:05pm.
