Upon releasing Tait the Scimitars announced the signing of 6’2″ Swedish left winger Joakim Millqvist from Swedish HockeyAllsvenkan side IK Nykopings NH 90. The 27 year old joins the Scimitars off a poor season in Sweden that saw the forward register just six points from 38 games. But with the fast open style of play the Scims often use, Head-coach Ron Shudra is hoping that Millqvist will bring a much needed goal injection to the Yorkshire based club despite last seasons poor numbers. With the signing of Millqvist the import ratio is now at five for the Scims. With only four imports allowed to dress for games it looks like the Scims will be rotating the roster when at full strength or another option will be head-coach Shudra will taking up a place behind the bench. As for Warren Tait it is believed the forward has signed a temporary contract at Elite league Newcastle Vipers to ice this weekend for the Tyneside outfit.
