Oilers win NHL draft lottery

NEW YORK – The Edmonton Oilers have won the NHL draft lottery and have earned the right to pick either Taylor Hall or Tyler Seguin as the first overall pick in the upcoming June draft. Hall is considered the top prospect by most scouts but Central Scouting has given Seguin the top spot in their ranking system.
Here at PHN we see Hall to be the picked by Edmonton and Seguin to be taken by the Boston Bruins at number two.   Cam Fowler is the top rated defenseman and should be taken by the Florida Panthers.
Stay tuned for PHN’s upcoming draft coverage in June but long before then we will be having a draft primer coming up this week as we will take a look at the top 10 picks in the draft and see where some of the top prospects will go in the first round.
