Number five seed Colorado and number four seed Idaho slated to square off in the the Western Conference Quarterfinals

2014 Playoff logoLOVELAND, Colo. – This week marks the beginning of The Colorado Eagles third ECHL post season with the start of the Kelly Cup Western Conference Quarterfinals. Colorado is scheduled to begin the first round series on Friday April 18th in Boise, Idaho against the number four seed  Idaho Steelheads. The same two opponents faced off in last seasons opening round as well which ended  the Eagles post season hopes with a series loss in six hard fought games.

Despite holding the top spot in the conference for much of the first half of the season the Colorado Eagles faded in the final months to drop all the way down to last place in the Mountain Division and into fifth place overall in the Western Conference.

Numerous injuries and inconsistent goal tending have plagued the Eagles in the second half of the season but a nearly full slate of healthy starters to open the playoff run bodes well for the Colorado team.

The schedule for the first round with dates locations and times is as follows:

Game 1:  Friday, April 18, Colorado at Idaho, 7:10 PM

Game 2:  Saturday, April 19, Colorado at Idaho, 7:10 PM

Game 3: Tuesday, April 22, Idaho at Colorado,  7:05 PM

Game 4: Thursday, April 24, Idaho at Colorado, 7:05 PM
