QUEBEC CITY P.Q.— By winning game three in their series, the Moncton Wildcats and Saint John Sea Dogs took commanding 3-0 leads in their respective series. Rimouski on the other hand, played very well winning their first game in their series but still trail 2-1 against Drummondville.
In Moncton: The Wildcats came out pretty strong in front of their fans for the first of three games in Moncton Coliseum. Gabriel Bourque (4-0), Kelsey Tessier (1-2), Brandon Gormley (0-3) led Wildcats offence in Moncton 7-2 wins over Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
Moncton scored four goals on eight shots in first period three of them came from the stick of third line Gabriel Bourque. The Wildcats led 4-2 after first twenty minutes against Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Moncton scored three of their seven goals with a man advantage.
Bourque opened the scoring only 17 seconds into the first period. Philippe Cornet for the Huskies tied the score at 13:34. The Wildcats regained the lead less than three minutes later when Mark Barbiero beat Rouyn-Noranda netminder Nicholas Champion. Bourque scored Moncton third goals completing a great pass from Kelsey Tessier at 17:41.
Rouyn-Noranda replied 17 seconds later when Dmitry Kostromitin beat Ncola Riopel with the Huskies second goal in the game.
Rouyn-Noranda head coach Andre Tourigny decided to make a change between the pipes sending Michael Audette to begin the second period. The Huskies lost their best forward, Jordan Caron, with only 3:20 gone in the second when the Sayabec native was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
The Huskies led in shots on goal after one period 15-8, The Wildcats led where it counted the most, on the scoreboard 4-2.
Bourque scored his fourth of the game 12:29 into the second period. Tessier who already had one assist scored Moncton’s fifth goal in the game with 59 seconds remaining.
Simon Jodoin with a man-advantage closed the Moncton offensive for the night with the Wildcats seventh goal, third one against Audette, 2:44 into third period.
Goaltenders Rouyn-Noranda: Nicholas Champion 8 shots- 4 saves in one period, Michael Audette 23 shots 20 saves.

In Rimouski: The Oceanic goaltender was the main reason why Rimouski led 2-1 against the Drummondville Voltigeurs after forty minutes of play. Drummondville shots 20 times in the opening period scoring only once when Christopher DiDominico scored Voltigeurs’ only goal at 4:55. Alex Belzile (2-0), Alexandre Durette (1-1), Charles-Antoine Roy (1-1) led the Oceanic to a 5-2 win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
Charles-Antoine Roy gave a 2-1 lead to Rimouski with his second of the series at 13:43 of second period.
Petr Straka, on a breakaway, beat Drummondville goaltender Jake Allen on his glove side at 4:35 giving two goals lead for the first time in this series. Alex Belzile gave 4-1 lead to the Oceanic with his fifth goal of the playoff.
Voltigeurs’ head coach Mario Duhamel took a time out and decided to change goaltenders sending Frederick Piche to replace starting goaltender Allen. Philippe Lefebvre scored Drummondville’s second and last goal in the game at 15:42.
Alex Belzile, with his second of the night in an empty net, completed Rimouski offense with Oceanic’s fifth goal of the game with 52 seconds remaining in the game.
Next game will be Wednesday night 7:30pm. Drummondville still leads the series 2-1.

In Gatineau: the Saint John Sea Dogs won in a shutout 6-0 against the Olympiques.
Michael Kirkpatrick (2-2), Simon Despres (0-4), Nathan Beaulieu (2-1), Nicholas Petersson (1-1) and Jonathan Huberdeau (1-1) were Sea Dogs offensive leaders on Tuesday night taking a 3-0 lead in their series.
Saint John led 42- 18 in shots on goal they scored two goals on thirteen power plays opportunities.
Goaltenders: Saint John: Marco Cousineau, 18 shots 18 saves, Gatineau Maxime Clermont, Dereck Tait came at 6:12 in third Period.
Three stars selections: first Saint John: Michael Kirkpatrick, second Saint John: Simon Despres, Third Saint John: Nathan Beaulieu.
Next game in this series will be Wednesday night 7:30pm in Gatineau.
