Late Rally Propels Reign Past Wranglers 2-1 Kitsyn and Register extend point streak to five games

ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign scored two late goals to push past the Las Vegas Wranglers 2-1 on Friday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena before a sellout crowd of 9,584 rowdy fans.Image1

A shot off the stick of Adam Huxley sailed through traffic beating the glove of Jussi Olkinuora at 3:30 to put the Wranglers ahead 1-0 in the first period.

After a scoreless second period the Reign caught some momentum with two straight goals in the third. The first goal was scored by Maxim Kitsyn at 7:26. The forward picked up a crisp pass from Matt Register who was stationed at the point. Matt Register and Rocco Carzo earned the assists on the goal. Kitsyn carried the puck across the crease and backhanded it past the pads of Travis Fullerton.

A mere 22 seconds later, Jonathan Parker put the Reign up 2-1. Register and Carzo were at it again to set him up perfectly outside the left circle. From the outer hashes, he ripped a shot clean past Fullerton’s glove.

The two Reign goals were enough to lift Ontario past Las Vegas for their third straight win. Olkinuora earned the victory with 19 saves; Fullerton suffered the loss with 32 stops.
