Kings, Sharks set to play exhibition in Utah

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – The Utah Grizzlies announced on Tuesday, they will host a NHL pre-season game between the Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the E-Center. This will be the second time in E-Center history that the NHL has played a game at the site of the 2002 Ice Hockey Championships at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The first NHL preseason game was played on October 3, 1998 with the Kings outlasting the Sharks 2-1 in overtime. For the Kings, it will be their third neutral site game in the preseason. The

Kings will also visit the Sprint Center in Kansas City on September 22, and the MGM Grand Gardens Arena in Las Vegas on September 27. Presently the Sharks have only scheduled this game as a neutral site game for their preseason slate of games.
The E-Center is the only neutral location for the five games scheduled to date for the Sharks, while one of three (of the seven games scheduled to date) for the Kings in the pre-season. This game will be both teams final pre-season game.
The E-Center is the home of the ECHL Utah Grizzlies, an affiliate of the New York Islanders. The Grizzlies season ticket holders can purchase their tickets now, while the general public will have to wait until August 1.
