BOISE, Idaho – In game one of this series, Idaho came out early and established dominance. Game two was a different story as the Steelheads waited until the third period before establishing their presence in a thrilling 4-3 come from behind win.
Utah head leads of 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 before the Steelheads hit the reset button and took control of the game and the series.
John-Scott Dickson picked up the game winner at 18:19 of the third, to send the home crowd (4162) into a different universe as the goal capped a solid comeback and rescued the Steelheads from losing their home ice advantage.
For Utah, the loss wasted an excellent effort from goalie Mike Morrison who made 30 saves on 34 shots and kept the Grizzlies competitive against the more talented Idaho side.
Richard Bachman picked up the win for the Steelheads in outdueling Morrison for the victory. Bachman had 25 saves on the night.
The Grizzlies went 2 for 5 on the power play and kept the Steelheads in control, yielding only one power play score in six chances for Idaho.
