LOVELAND, Colo. – Hockey fights have long been acknowledged as a way of changing momentum in a game.
The Colorado Eagles were fighting for first place in the Turner Conference on Friday March 4, 2011. After two quick goals by the Eagles early in the first period, the Killer Bees scored twice to even things up.
Looking to turn the momentum back towards the home team, Eagles forward Dan Sullivan challenged Bees tough guy Kirk Medernach to drop the gloves.

Sullivan and Medernach earned fighting majors for their efforts and the Eagles took the 3-2 lead less than a minute and a half later on a goal by Kip Workman. The battle raged on but in the end, the Eagles managed a 5-4 win.
