Henrich urges Blaze to focus on themselves

COVENTRY, UK – Adam Henrich says Genting Casino Coventry Blaze must blank out the party atmosphere at the Odyssey Arena when they take on new Rapid Solicitors Elite League champions Belfast Giants on Friday night.

Giants secured the league title for the third time on Sunday night and next face back-to-back home games with Blaze as they look to celebrate in style.175px-CoventryBlaze

Blaze themselves were skating to a second successive win under new coach Marc LeFebvre as they followed up their 7-3 success at Cardiff Devils by beating Braehead Clan 4-2 at the Skydome.

Henrich, on target against Clan, said: “It was a tough week and it was unfortunate what happened to Matty but we start a new chapter now under Marc.

“He has come in and has switched things around. There was a lot of pressure on us but we delivered with two huge results. We cannot stop there. We need to build on this and we know we have a tough weekend in Belfast ahead.

“We are looking to put together some wins and start climbing the standings. It is an exciting league and it is tight from second place down to eighth.

“Belfast have a very good team. They are an experienced, veteran team with a lot of players over 30 years old. Congratulations to them on the title, winning the league with 10 games left is impressive.

“But they are beatable and we have done it before. We can’t look at that [the party atmosphere]. We just need to get our heads down and play and try and get the win. We need to listen to Marc, work hard and we will see what happens.”
