Grenville received the most votes out of all of the Bucks Legends who were eligible. The voting was comprised of the Bucks’ fan vote on Legends Night and Bucks front office staff.

Grenville will be inducted to the Bucks Hall of Fame on March 12th during a ceremony at Laredo Energy Arena.

“We are very proud and honored to be inducting Chris Grenville as the first member of the Bucks Hall of Fame,” Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski said. “He is very deserving of this and I couldn’t think of another player who should be the first guy in. He’s given so much to our organization and it will be a very special night when he’s inducted.”

“This is a tremendous honor and I’m very humbled to be receiving this award,” Grenville said. “I want to thank the Laredo Bucks organization, the City of Laredo, and everyone who voted for me. There were a lot of great guys up for this honor and I’m very honored to be chosen.”

Considered one of the greatest players in Laredo Bucks history, Grenville, an original Buck, played three seasons in Laredo from 2002-04 and 2005-06 and helped lead the franchise to two CHL President’s Cup Championships.

Grenville’s name is near the top of the Bucks record books in several categories. In 181 regular season games with Laredo, he is in the top five in franchise history in goals (120), assists (124) and points (244) as well as the top five in several single season records. His 120 career Bucks goals stood as a franchise record from 2006-08, while his 45 goals during the 2003-04 campaign was the top franchise mark until 2007-08.
The Thorold, Ontario native performed well in the post-season, scoring 43 points (21 G, 22 A) in 41 career playoff games with the Bucks.

During his 12-year professional career, Grenville tallied 703 points (364 G, 339 A) in 676 regular season games played in six different leagues. Contact comment@prohockeynews.com
