PAPILLION, NEBRASKA – The Green Bay Gamblers refused to go away Friday evening despite the constant pressure by the Force. Green Bay fought back hard firing 47 times on net and physically dominating Fargo in the process.
Despite the abusive nature of the Gamblers, the game would come down to overtime in order to decide upon a winner. Ernie Banks was known for saying “Let’s play two,” and that is exactly what game three of the USHL finals came down to Friday night as Green Bay would win in the 101:56 minute of play.
Chase Grant scored twice for Fargo who also received a goal from Matt Leitner in the loss.
Yet it was Anders Lee who would have a two goal evening and finish upon a higher note. Patrick McCadden scored in regulation to even the score at three all. After two shut out overtime periods, Green Bay would emerge the victor as Ryan Furne scored the game winning goal for the Gamblers staving off elimination for another day.
With the win the Gamblers force game four on Saturday evening trailing in the series two games to one.
