WASHINGTON, DC – The Hobey Baker Memorial Award was presented to the Boston University Terriers Matt Gilroy on Friday during the Frozen Four festivities in Washington, D.C., where BU takes on Miami, Ohio in Saturday’s NCAA title game.
Gilroy is a senior defenseman at BU and is the second player in school history to win the award. Chris Drury won the award in 1998. Teammate Colin Wilson was also a candidate for award along with Northeastern goaltender Brad Thiessen. Gilroy scored 36 points this season, which led all Hockey East defensemen in scoring.
