Free agent signings through 19 July Busy Friday sees Jets build in net


NEW YORK – Friday was a busy day in the free agent market teams mostly resigned their restricted free agent players.

Brandon Yip moved from Nashville over to Phoenix. In parts of four NHL seasons with Nashville and the Colorado Avalanche, the 28-year-old has played in 172 regular season games, recording 29-27-56 and 130 PIM. He has also appeared in 16 Stanley Cup playoff games, totaling 3-3-6 and 12 PIM.

Meanwhile, Winnipeg was seen to stockpile goalies in resigning Edward Pasquale and adding Michael Hutchinson, late of the Boston Bruins organization. Hutchinson, 23, played in 30 games with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League during the 2012-13 season. In that time, he earned a 13-13-3 record, 2.30 goals against average and 0.914 save percentage.
