Entering their third ECHL season The Colorado Eagles continue to evolve

LOVELAND, Colo. – With Captain Riley Nelson as the only remaining member of their original line-up the Colorado Eagles begin the  2013-2014 ECHL regular season Friday Oct. 18th.

Among the off season on ice personnel changes was the loss of the team’s all time winningest goalie, Kyle Jones, and the retirement of celebrated defenseman Aaron Schneekloth.

An intense training camp held over the past two weeks, capped off with two preseason games against the Las Vegas Wranglers, yielded a talented and exciting opening night roster. Included are twelve members of the final roster from the end of last season along with ten newcomers.

Returning to the Eagles along with Nelson are Adam Brown, G; Arthur Bidwill, D; Isaac Smeltzer, D;  Kevin Ulanski, F;  Teegan Moore, F; Kyle Ostrow, F; Greg Gardner, F;  Dylan Hood, F; Trent Daavettila, F; Jason Beatty, D and  A.J. Hau, F.

New to the Colorado Eagles this season are  Marc Cheverie, G;  Dustin Butler, G; Daniel Johnston, D; Paul Phillips, D; John Ryder, D; Kevin Young, D; Mark Nemec, D; Luke Fulghum, F; Alex Hudson, F and Jesse Mychan, F.

Many changes have also occurred off the ice over the Summer. Included was the end of the affiliation with the Winnipeg Jets / St. Johns Ice Caps organization, the change behind the bench with Defenseman Aaron Schneekloth replacing Greg Pankewicz as Chris Stewart’s coaching assistant, and award winning Media Relations Director, J.P. Puma, took his talents to the family business in the Northern Colorado area. Media Relations will be handled by Eagles broadcaster Keven McGlue and the new assistant Media Relations Director, Jessica Kading.

Opening night in the ECHL for the Colorado Eagles is  Friday Oct. 18, 2013 against the Bakersfield Condors in Bakersfield, Ca. Game time is 7:00 P.M. PST
