MUNICH, GERMANY – The EHC Munich fans had something to look upon before the game on Friday. There was the presentation of the 10 final members of the Miss Russian-Germany Pageant on the ice of the olympic-icehall. It was the best part of the night.
The first 10 minutes of the game were really rapid on both sides. Munich had the better chances, but couldn’t put the puck into the goal. In the eleventh minute Iserlohn was able to take advantage of Munich’s mistakes in the defense and Robert Hock didn’t miss the chance to score.
With this, the flow in the Munich game was stopped and Iserlohn started to play. This peaked in the last minute of the 1st period, when Iserlohn took advantage of a further mistake in the Munich team and Pat Kavangh scored; 0-2 Iserlohn.
Munich started really well into the 2nd period, but Roosters netminder Manny Legacy kept the door closed and when the goalie wasn’t able to save the puck referee Oswald came in   to action. He denied a goal for Munich after watching the video. But in a later replay it was clear to see that the puck was behind the goal line.

Iserlohn scored another a third. After this goal the Munich players heads started to drop. When Jeff Giuliano scored to make it 0-4 5 seconds before the signal it was over not only for the Munich fans but also for Goalie Sebastian Elwing. With the signal he directed to Goalie-coach and legend Peppi Heiß he complained about his teammates who let him down until now.
In the last third fans favorite Joey Vollmer was in the Munich goal. The EHC Munich tried their luck, but Legacy earned his upcoming shootout by denying chance after chance. For his teammates it was also more important to get the blank than to score more goals. Because of this attitude they stopped attacking and they appear only 2 times in front of Vollmer.

With the end of the game around 800 fans from Iserlohn who came with a special train from the Sauerland started a party about the never in doubt win. Manny Legacy earned himself a special cheer for his efforts. The other 3100 fans saw a weak-attacking chance-missing Munich team who hopefully will have changed their attitude by Sunday at Mannheim.
