LOVELAND, Colo. – With injuries to Colorado Avalanche forwards P.A. Parenteau and Paul Stastny this past week, two forwards from their AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, were pulled up to the NHL.

When Brad Malone and Paul Carey joined the Avalanche in Denver for Wednesday’s  game that left the Monsters shorthanded creating an opportunity for one the the local ECHL players, Colorado Eagle Trent Daavettila, to get some playing time at the AHL level.

Although the Eagles have no formal affiliation with an AHL or NHL team their players are all available for call ups to higher level hockey teams. According to the Eagles press release Daavettila has experienced that opportunity in each of his last five seasons.

The Eagles are presently in Anchorage Alaska to play a grueling three games in three nights set against the Aces on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
