Cyclones slip past K-Wings Cincinnati defeats Kalamazoo 2-1 in OT

KALAMAZOO, Mich – Zach Miskovic’s first goal of the season proved to be timely, as the Cincinnati Cyclones defeated the Kalamazoo Wings 2-1 in overtime.

Not wasting any time in his K-Wings debut, defenseman Dustin Cloutier (1st) scored on his very first shot of the game 36 seconds into the game. Cloutier, who has played better parts of three seasons with the K-Wings, started the year in Norway.Cincinnati Cyclones logo

The goal scored by Cloutier was the quickest opening goal this season by the K-Wings.

Jack Combs (7th) tied the game at 1-1 to continue his torment of ECHL goaltenders. Combs deflected a Brett Wysopal slap shot 5:24 into the period to extend his goal streak to five games and his point streak to six games.

The stalemate halted in overtime with Miskovic’s blue line slap shot 3:23 into the extra session. Miskovic became the 13th Cyclones player to record a game-winning goal; no other Cincinnati skater has earned more than one game-winner this season.
