Cyclones lose third in a row

READING , Pa. – The Reading Royals scored early and often and never looked back, as the Cyclones doubled their previous offensive output. The Royals put the Cyclones away just eleven minutes into the first period, as they scored three goals to Cincinnati’s none. Chuck Weber called upon recently returned Robert Mayer to relieve Jeremy Smith in the net.

Olivier Labelle, Marc Cavosie and Andrew Sarauer all netted markers against a porous Cyclones defense. Cavosie had his tally on the man advantage against the ‘Clones penalty kill unit.

Prior to being pulled, Smith stopped five of the eight shots he faced. Then, Mayer tightened up the defense allowing Reading to scored only one more goal, but ultimately put the contest out of reach.

The loss puts the Cyclones in a must win situation to stay in the series.

The Cyclones had goals tonight from Jimmy Kilpatrick and Captain Barret Ehgoetz to bring the score within one, but it was not enough, as Matt Dalton was a brick wall.

Dalton has been very good in net for the Royals this post season. He again stymied the ‘Clones long enough for his teammates to salt this one away.

The final score was 4-2, giving the Royals a three game to none lead in the series. Game four is scheduled for Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Sovereign Center.
