LONDON – This week’s training practice involved a bit of a twist for the Haringey Racers. As part of a new TV programme, F2 Kicks Off, to be aired on Channel 4 and Sky Living in April, the Haringey Racers were filmed alongside Billy Wingrove and Jeremy Lynch, as they did what they do best: freestyle football tricks.
The new TV show is estimated to reach around 22 million viewers across the two channels.
The F2 Freestylers are embarking on a mission to take freestyle football tricks across London, demonstrating their ability in all sorts of weird and wonderful places, amongst various different London communities and sports teams.
Filming alongside the Haringey Racers at Alexandra Palace will certainly be a highlight and viewers can expect to see tricks incorporating the hockey gear, the Racers changing room, lockers, and of course, the Alexandra Palace ice rink itself.
The Racers’ main sponsors, CVS Business Rates Specialists, were on hand on the night itself to meet the team and to oversee the filming.
Mark Rigby, Chief Executive at CVS said, “It was important to us to be present on such an exciting night for the Racers family. As main sponsors, we are proud to have our logo on the Racers shirts. We are thrilled that the Haringey Racers had the opportunity to be involved in F2 Kicks Off, as the two sports integrate well together.”
Speaking during this week’s training and TV shoot, David Richards, Head Coach and Forward player of the Racers said, “Things are really taking off for the Racers. We’re training long, hard hours and playing well because of it. Our support network is fantastic. CVS, our Main Sponsor, have helped us tremendously, but we owe a lot to our fans. We’re seeing record numbers of fans attend our matches, both at home at Alexandra Palace and at our away games. I’m positive that F2 Kicks Off will give us the extra exposure that we deserve.”
We will have more of the Channel 4 programme and the Racers soon.
