Colorado gets the win over the Rush in Game Two

RAPID CITY, S.D. – After the previous night’s lackluster performance in Game One against Rapid City, the Colorado Eagles looked to rebound with quick start in Game Two.
Getting the scoring started was Eagles veteran forward Adam Hogg who tallied twice in less than two minutes to stake the Eagles to a two-goal lead early in the first period.
At 6:36 Steve Haddon and Adam Chorneyko assisted on the setup for Hogg’s first goal on the power play. It was Haddon again, this time with help from Matt Glasser, who set the table for Hogg’s goal number two at 8:34.

Riley Weselowski got the Rush on the scoreboard with the first of their three unanswered first period goals at 10:56. Colt King and Konrad Reeder got the assists.
Another quick score at 12:50 from Derek LaBlanc, assisted by Andy Smale and Brendan Hodge, tied the game at two.
With Hogg in the box on a tripping call Kevin Harvey’s goal at 16:03 gave the Rush a 3-2 lead through the end of one period.
The chippy play continued from both teams into the second period with eight minor penalties called, but only one goal was scored. Eagles offensive-defenseman, Aaron Schneekloth knocked a puck past Tim Boron at 8:23 to knot the game at three.
More nastiness ensued in period three as 11 combined penalties were assessed, including matching fighting majors, but only one goal went up on the board in the final frame

Colorado scored 2 of 7 on the power play while Rapid City went 1 for 9.
