CHARLOTTE, NC – In the first ever American Hockey League/NBA doubleheader on Saturday April 7 at Time Warner Cable Arena face-off 1pm Charlotte will host Abbotsford Heat.
Festivities will begin at 10.30am with games, the Checkers Slap Shot inflatable and appearances by Chubby and the Checkmates. There will be giveaways and prizes, including signed memorabilia and donated items from the team’s sponsors.
The first 2,000 fans for the second game on Sunday April 8 will receive an Easter egg of which 24 “Golden Eggs” will contain grand prizes that include 2 iPod Shuffles, 4 $25.00 gift cards to the Bears Den merchandize store and autographed team memorabilia.
This weekend the Checkers are in Grand Rapids and Peoria before returning to play Milwaukee Admirals on Tuesday April 3rd.
