Checkers notebook: team joins “Movember” effort

CHARLOTTE, NC – Movember, the world-wide men’s health foundation is being supported by the Checkers hockey team and staff including owner Michael Kahn. To raise funds and awareness the players, staff and owner Kahn are growing moustaches.

Drayson Bowman has been recalled by the Hurricanes and Zac Dalpe has been activated from injured reserve and assigned to Charlotte.
 
Dalpe, 22, has skated in five games with Carolina this season, earning a plus-1 plus/minus rating. The Paris, Ont., native suffered a lower-body injury on Oct. 14 against the Buffalo Sabres, and was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 25. Dalpe (6’1”, 195 lbs.) has earned four points (3g, 1a) in 20 career NHL games with the Hurricanes. He has totaled 65 points (29g, 36a) in 70 career AHL games with Albany and Charlotte.
In addition, the Checkers assigned goaltender John Muse to its ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades.   Muse, 23, was recalled Oct. 22 to fill in for the injured Justin Peters and backed up for three games during the Checkers’ recent trip to Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Houston.
