Checkers lose in SO to Chicago, 1-0

CHARLOTTE, NC – A terrific hockey game between two equally matched teams ended with Chicago taking the win in a shootout. The two teams played 65 minutes of scoreless hockey in regulation and overtime, before the Wolves came out on top in the shootout.
 
Chicago had not managed to beat John Muse in the Charlotte goal until the shootout when Darren Haydar, Michael Davis and Kevin Connauton all scored for the Wolves. Muse made 32 saves on the night while Eddie Lack in the Chicago goal had a spectacular evening making 31 saves and saving four of the six shootout efforts by the Checkers.
 
Charlotte retain top spot in the Mid West Division, they are now 30-18-2-3 on the season with Chicago, 29-18-1-3, three points behind them.
 
In the shootout Chris Terry and A. J. Jenks scored for Charlotte with Pistilli, Dalpe, Shugg and Boychuk having their shots saved.
 
The two teams meet again Sunday afternoon, face-off 3.pm at the Allstate Arena in Chicago.
