Checker’s goaltender signs for Hurricanes

CHARLOTTE, NC – John Muse, who split the 2011/12 season between the Checkers and the Florida Everblades, has signed a one year deal with the Canes. Muse has won two NCAA titles with Boston College and the ECHL Championship with Florida.

Muse, 23, will receive $525,000 on the NHL level or $50,000 in the minors; he also receives a $10,000 signing bonus.   Originally from East Falmouth, MA John was 10-3-2 with 1.81 goals against average and a .941 save percentage for the Checkers. He was named MVP of the ECHL’s Kelly Cup playoffs.

While at Boston College where he played four seasons, he won three Beanpot championships in 2008/10/11, three Hockey East Tournament titles and two NCAA national championships. John is definitely a winner and is a great addition to the Carolina Hurricanes.
