Charlotte snaps skid in 4-0 win over Monsters

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A shutout and 23 saves by Justin Peters in the Charlotte goal, his third clean sheet of the season, saw the visitors gain a 4-0 victory at Lake Erie. The Checkers always find the Monsters a difficult team to breakdown having lost the previous evening 2-1.
Tonight’s game was fairly even until Riley Nash beat Monsters goalie Kieran Millan midway through the second period with a slap-shot giving him his fifth goal of the season. Millan was making his AHL debut for Lake Erie one that proved to be a losing cause.
In the third Zac Dalphi added two more goals before Tim Wallace rounded the evening off with goal number four. Chris Terry assisted Dalphi with the first goal.   Dalphi, second goal on a power play saw a wonderful build-up from Zach Boychuk, Justin Faulk and Bobby Sanguinetti ending with Dalphi slotting the puck home. This is the third power play goal Charlotte have scored in the last three games after a 0-18 run without success. Riley Nash assisted Tim Wallace with goal number four and his eighth AHL career goal.
The win by Charlotte snapped a five game winning streak by Lake Erie. Charlotte now return home to the PNC Arena in Raleigh to face the Admirals on Sunday face-off 1.30PM.
